I was afraid this would happen one day. I’m not the sort that likes to report bad news, but I heard something recently that I have to share.

I don’t know this person myself, but he’s a friend of a friend from another state. He had really been enjoying the new instances with his guild, but they’d lost their shaman recently. He decided he’d step up and fill the gap since another player had a good DPS that could replace his already. Plus, he likes the idea of the shaman, so it really seemed like a good time to try it out.

Of course, the thought of running a new toon up to 80 was a little daunting. He’d heard from his friend on my end about buying accounts being a good way to make that change without having to make your guild babysit you until you’ve leveled. He had some income at his disposal and figured he’d give that a go.

Problem is he’d never done any sort of research on that sort of thing before. He didn’t know any of the safe sites to buy wow account from. So he just went with one of the first ones he found figuring they were all the same.

He found out the hard way that they aren’t. He was told it would take about 2 weeks to get his account. That’s not unheard of if they’re still finishing it off and need the time to get it prepped. However, something that should have tipped him off right away was that they wanted a money order instead of a credit card. In fact they were quite insistent on not using credit cards or even Western Union.

Two weeks go by and he hasn’t heard anything from them, but he figured they were just keeping it quiet for safety’s sake. But the account never showed up. He tried to send an email through the site, but it was returned as undeliverable. About 2 days later the site was taken down by the host. Turns out it was a scam the whole time.

The moral of the story is to make sure you do your homework when you’re buying accounts. Only shop at safe sites like Toonstorm.

Hey everybody. I hope you’re all having fun with the latest 3.3 build. It’s keeping everyone around here running all over the place. Now that the actual Lich King battle is released, you’d be amazed at how many people here are wanting to buy WoW account. They just don’t want to wait that long to try it out.

With that in mind, I figured a refresher was in order on what to do to avoid being scammed or banned when buying an account. The last thing anyone needs is to lose tons of cash or find themselves banned from WoW outright. It just puts a serious kink in everyone’s mood.

Here are some of the best tips I can give you:

First, only deal with trusted, reliable places. Yeah, you can find accounts on eBay or craigslist at rock bottom prices, but there are absolutely no guarantees with them. How can you hold somebody accountable if they can just fade away after you’ve sent the money? Craigslist is especially bad for this. Stick with sites that are acredited by the BBB and other such services.

Second, always always always look for a money-back guarantee. These things are the best insurance you can have, because it means the site is taking extra pains to avoid any problems with the transaction. I’ve only seen these a few places (Toonstorm most noticably) and I’ll never point anyone to a site that won’t carry one.

Third, look for live people. It’s one thing to complete a transaction via email, but a site that’s willing to put you in touch with live human beings shows that they care that much more. Besides, email addys can be made and abandoned with ease, and there won’t be a paper trail to follow if that’s all you’re working with.

Last but not least, don’t do anything that will draw attention to your purchased account. Don’t use it to buy gold or powerlevel further if you decide you wanted an 80 instead of a 70. Too much of that kind of activity on an account is a huge red flag for GMs.

So, there you have it. I hope this info helps some of you newbies out there avoid the pitfalls of account buying

Okay, so if you’re considering buying a WoW account you have probably heard many of the same horror stories I have—people losing hundreds of dollars on scams, or worse yet getting banned by Blizzard and losing everything they’ve built on their own account—level 70′s, epic gear…..ouch! So naturally you don’t want that to happen to you. I want to help make sure you don’t end up as one of those horror stories, and so I’ve decided to compile for you a few tips on buying WoW accounts safely.

1. Look for the best, most trusted online retailers. Don’t buy an account from Joe Schmo down the street (even if he seems like a trustworthy guy) and don’t buy one off craigslist or eBay. You are way more likely to get scammed in a situation like that where it’s your word against someone else’s.

2. Look for sites that carry a money-back guarantee (like the one offered by toonstorm.com, for example) just in case something goes wrong or your new account gets stolen back by the original user (hey, it could happen!) Some sites also offer insurance on your purchases, but if you have a guarantee that probably isn’t necessary.

3. Always make sure the site is willing to offer you a REAL person to talk to. Live help is a hallmark of a well-established, legitimate service.

And most importantly:

4. NEVER use a bought account for bought gold or powerleveling (and this should be common sense, if you bought an account it probably has high-enough-level characters) If anything, use your own original account to make gold purchases and then mail that gold to your other account. This is the best way to stay off the radar and avoid that worst of sentences, being banned from WoW entirely.

That’s it for now, folks, stay tuned for more tips, tricks, and reviews in the coming weeks.

Hello everyone and welcome to the buy wow account blog!

We’ve really been gaming it up here, WoTLK is as good or better than everyone expected, if a Blizz Dev ever reads this blog – hats off to you sir/madam – hats…off!

I had one of my regulars come in last night saying he has been wanting to trade from horde to alliance for some time now (I guess on his server its pretty lop-sidded right now). Anyway, after about 30 minutes of chatting and mentioning the blog he decided to buy an account and test out the process for us!

Of course once he got to reading the blog he decided to go with a site we reviewed a while ago, but that was safe and easy – I guess I can’t blame him.

He’s decided to buy a lvl 80 character from Toonstorm.

Upon purchasing I have found something very unique about how toonstorm transfers accounts that other companies don’t do is actually transfer the character for you onto your own newly created account; making it 100% safe against chargebacks reversals etc – which take it from me is a real pain in the orc butt.

So the purchase of the new level 80 wow account is going full bore; he just made the purchase off one of the pcs here and I’m watching the process; in total it looks like it’ll take about an hour and a half to get the new account setup under his name and get it traded over safely.

Seems like a great way to do it and toonstorm is helping him through the entire process.

I’ll edit this post in a few hours and post the results – I suspect everything will go just fine.

Ok it’s been about 2 hours now and toonstorm came through on the wow account, a totally safe secure transaction has given my regular the level 80 wow account he’s been wanting :D Thanks again toonstorm and thank you guys for reading!
